Jean Henri Lhuillier named as one of this year’s Master Innovator by Mansmith Innovation Awards

Cebuana Lhuillier President & CEO gets the nod for changing the face of micro insurance in the country through a brilliant fusion of brick and tech strategy

Jean Henri Lhuillier, the President & CEO of micro financial services giant Cebuana Lhuillier, was recently named as a “Master Innovator for 2022” by the Mansmith Innovation Awards, an award-giving body organized by Mansmith & Fielders, the country’s leading training and consultancy company.

Lhuillier was cited for revolutionizing the face of micro insurance in the Philippines—thanks to his ground-breaking work in making micro insurance more relevant in the lives of Filipinos. Based on the latest statistics, only 53.7M out of 111M Filipinos are covered by insurance. To date, 31% of the insured Filipinos was contributed by Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Insurance, the biggest attributor to date as cited by the Insurance Commission.

Cebuana Lhuillier captured the interest of the market especially from low-income communities by offering affordable micro insurance products that can be easily purchased in any of Cebuana Lhuillier’s over 3,000 branches nationwide, while also putting systems in place for easier claims payout through the same branches. This was made possible by Lhuillier’s keen support and commitment in the application of tech innovations as a means to augment Cebuana Lhuillier’s wide network of branches and partners nationwide.

Bayad Recognized as Top Collecting Partner During the Pag-IBIG Fund StAR Awards

Bayad breaks records for obtaining the highest bills payment transaction volume for Pag-IBIG Fund home loans. With almost a million increase in transactions, covering both digital and over-the-counter payments from 2020 to 2021, Bayad was then recognized as a Top Collecting Partner for both eSRS (electronic submission of remittance schedule) and self-employed members categories during the annual Pag-IBIG Fund Stakeholders’ Accomplishment Report (StAR) Awards last April 8, 2022.

LRMC adds more LRT-1 merchants accepting beep™ payments, load

LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation continues to enhance its services for a convenient commuting experience as it formally rolls out its Tap2Pay campaign with more LRT-1 merchants as new channels for beep™ loading and payments services.

Forming part of LRMC’s digitization efforts, this initiative allows for more uses of beep™ for passengers as they can now use it to buy goods at more merchant kiosks at different LRT-1 stations such as Baclaran, EDSA, Gil Puyat, Carriedo, D. Jose, and Balintawak. Passengers may also top up their beep™ cards with any load denomination without convenience fee versus other beep™ loading partners.

Spectrum Energizes Alphatech's First Solar-Powered Facility

Spectrum, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has energized Alphatech Development Corporation’s first solar-powered facility, supporting the latter’s push for sustainable business operations.

Officials from the two companies on May 25 led the inauguration of the 856.80 kilowatt-peak (kWp) solar rooftop project at Alphatech’s manufacturing plant in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
