LKI Luds Extension Of ‘No Disconnection Policy'

In the recent statement submitted by consumer group Laban Konsyumer Inc. (LKI), the advocacy organization and its President Atty. Vic Dimagiba said “our group would like to commend the Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) as they said on Monday that it is continuing the suspension of all disconnection activities in its franchise area until April 30, 2021 following the Government’s announcement placing the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal under a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) until the end of the month. We hope that other utilities follow this example as well.”

LKI highlighted that “Especially since MECQ has been established and many workers still have no means to pay their bills, to protect consumer welfare, DUs like Meralco, in this case, show true compassion for the everyday citizen as they will continue to put on hold all disconnection activities until April 30.”

Samsung Launches its First-Ever Window-Type Air Conditioner with a Digital Inverter

The new unit also has an anti-bacterial filter for cleaner air at home

Families are expecting to use their air conditioners more as summer approaches, and this comes with worries about rising electricity costs. Samsung is offering a new way to cool down without adding a dent to bills with its first window-type air conditioner, which comes with a digital inverter for optimized cooling and a filter to keep homes clean.

The Samsung Window-Type Inverter saves up to 61% more energy than non-inverter units, so everyone can relax with the air conditioner on the whole day. Unlike fixed-speed compressors, this digital inverter technology regulates the speed of the compressor based on the level of room temperature. It keeps the room cool without sudden spikes in energy-usage.

The link between oral health and overall health has never been clearer

Philips is committed to supporting people’s health across the health continuum for the long term.

Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) The importance of oral health – and its relation to overall health – has continued to garner attention across the world. This past month, the World Health Organization (WHO) proposed a resolution to reorient oral healthcare’s traditional approach to a preventative approach with risk identification for timely, comprehensive and inclusive care that ensures healthy living for broader populations. The resolution underscores that good oral health plays a key role in overall health and wellbeing, and includes an action plan that promotes and integrates disease prevention. It also includes guidance on how WHO Member States can integrate oral health within national policies to ensure good oral health for all. Philips has shared a similar viewpoint for years, and the resolution has now also been backed by various global organizations.
