While often well-meaning, these sources can perpetuate harmful myths and contribute to risky behavior, such as unsafe sexual practices or inadequate protection against STIs. Adolescents, particularly impressionable young girls, are susceptible to false information spread on social media, complicating the start of their reproductive health journeys.
