Shoppers experienced Pasig community’s homegrown handicrafts and flavors in a recent trade fair as specially-made handicraft products and homegrown food concoctions were center of attraction at the Activity Center of Ayala Malls The 30th in Pasig City.
Ayala’s lifestyle community center and first commercial development in the Pasig area partnered with the Pasig Livelihood Training Center for a week-long showcase of homegrown products from over 25 entrepreneur-participants, all coming within the City now under the care of the young and dynamic Mayor Vico Sotto.
Aptly dubbed NeighborGoods, the community trade fair opened last August 26 to the delight of mall goers and nearby residents coming off a long weekend. It primarily envisions to promote homegrown products of the community, from small to medium-sized entrepreneurs and social enterprises within the Pasig area. Workshop activities, namely the making of Russian tea cake, dishwashing soaps, beads, and tocino, were also conducted with sure-fire entertainment ensured all throughout the days-long bazaar.
For all its promise and glitter, the ribbon-cutting event that opened it was a festive gathering of avid mall visitors, stylish entrepreneurs, representatives from national broadsheets and TV networks, and VIPs led by the Pasig City mayor himself, Ayala Malls The 30th General Manager Pivi Anne Diaz, City Administrator Atty. Jeron Manzanero, and Pasig Livelihood Training Center Chairperson Atty. Rey Jose Espinosa. Singing beauty Princess Valesco provided classy entertainment as deserved by the occasion.
Participants to NeighborGoods include Bees Mode Honey, C Fragrance, Happy Organics, All Things Eco, Grasyarap Homemade, Gourmet Tuyo, Kilus Foundation, among others.
Neighborgoods embraces the strength of Ayala Malls The 30th as among the high-end public abode where “community and convenience” come together “just around the corner.” Since it opened last January 2017, this three-level style community mall has provided a good mix of dining and quick-service food ideas that come along finely with foreign and local fashion concepts.
Pasig residents and those nearby, as well as office workers and students in the area, all come regularly at The 30th for its refreshing and curated ambience and given the fact it is located in a busy, invigorating intersection between residences, offices, and schools.
Its likewise worth-noting that this happening is an undertaking that encourages income generation apart from employment by way of business ventures by graduates-turned-entrepreneurs. Having said that, this goes in line with Ayala Malls’ social responsibility through the provision of help and support towards the growth of the community.
