Let's Have A Healthy Happy Holiday!

It is indeed the season for many things. Aside from gifts and celebrations, we are also more prone to sickness and diseases that comes along with the activities that we do during these times. We (usually or most likely) cannot avoid eating too much or engaging in stressful moments which could lead to sickness and totally ruining the cheers and festivties.

Now we asked a health expert Doc Pao to help us understand the risks and what we can do to prevent them.

1.      With the advent of new sicknesses sprouting left and right, how do you feel your field of study can help in alleviating or avoiding these sicknesses?

Diseases are caused not by genetic predisposition alone but by the imbalance in health brought about by excess toxins and nutritional deficiencies that one has, given by their lifestyle and environmental factors.  Prevention and early detection of these imbalances without any invasive procedures can help build a cascade of well being starting with one person to a family to a community all the way to a country.  Usually when symptoms manifest the diseases have already taken a toll. Hence for chronic and degenerative diseases best practices of medical systems can be applied but for acute once conventional medicine can work well with integrative therapies that allow people to feel like people when they are treated.  We just got to preserve the humanity of each person from early detection through treatment proper and post treatment covering all aspects of life touching the areas of the a Body, Mind and Soul.  Going to the roots would help alleviate people from suffering. When symptoms manifest, disease would have already progressed by then. Why not prepare the bodies protection and defence mechanism to be resilient to internal and external threats.

Is your refrigerator holiday-ready?

The holidays are almost always jam-packed with gatherings every week. And for homes that regularly host the celebrations, the kitchen will need to be efficient with plenty of storage space so that food preparation and cleanup will run smoothly as possible.

Next to cooking appliances, refrigerators take center stage during the holidays by keeping fresh ingredients, chilled drinks, and leftovers neatly stored and organized in the kitchen. A regular-sized fridge, however, might not be enough for the needs of the occasion, especially with new faces possibly adding to the yearly guest list.

“Christmas should be about renewing relationships with the people we love, not about worrying how to keep things in order. To make our loved ones feel welcome when they visit, it’s important that we keep our homes stress-free,” said Jennifer Samson, Haier’s Product Manager for refrigerators.
