Meralco Recognized For Outstanding Service Amid The Pandemic

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) emerged as one of the top  companies in the Philippines on service excellence, leveraging both digital and traditional customer channels despite the challenges brought about by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In the recently concluded 2021 ASEAN Enterprise Innovation Awards presented by Asia IoT Business Platform (AIBP), Meralco was recognized for its entry, “Transformation Powered by Technology and Tradition”, which showcased the power distributor’s programs aimed at enhancing customer experiences through process improvements and digital transformation.

Among Meralco’s key customer-centricity initiatives are its Facebook Live Chat, which serves 8,000 transactions per hour; Virtual Customer Assistant, which allows customers to speak with Meralco representatives via video conferencing; and Online Customer Appointment, which enables customers to schedule appointments before visiting Business Centers. All these are geared towards ensuring the safety and convenience of Meralco customers.

  • Grab enhances its COVID Assistance Fund by 4X to support vaccinated driver- and delivery-partners who may have contracted COVID and would need to self-isolate;

Meralco asks gencos to join CSP for 170-MW summer supply

The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) is urging generation companies to join the Competitive Selection Process (CSP) for the supply of 170 megawatts (MW) of peaking power needed for the summer months.

Through the Third Party Bids and Awards Committee (TPBAC), Meralco said interested parties have until Wednesday, January 5, to submit Expressions of Interest for the contract covering the period February 26, 2022 to July 25, 2022.

A Pre-bid Conference is scheduled on January 12, 2022, and the Bid Submission Deadline will be on February 2, 2022.

P&G gets Silver LEED certification for new Distribution Center Expansion project

P&G representatives accepts the SILVER LEED Certificate with representatives from the LEED Certification consultant company, OVE ARUP & PARTNERS HONGKONG LTD PHILIPPINE BRANCH, Raul Manlapig, Managing Director, and Aladdin Ucol, Project Manager.

Procter & Gamble Philippines (P&G) was recently awarded a Silver LEED certification for its new Distribution Center Expansion project in the P&G Cabuyao manufacturing plant. 

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. It is acknowledged as a symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.  A LEED certification means that a building is designed and built to improve its performance in energy and water efficiency, carbon dioxide emissions reductions, improved indoor air quality, and resource stewardship. The P&G facility incorporates energy saving features, such as the use of roof skylights minimizing use of LED lighting during the day; and programmed ventilation utilizing 50% energy usage during the colder times of the day.

P&G to launch booster program for vaccinated employees

With the government approving the administration of COVID-19 booster shots for essential workers and the general adult population, Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines will soon begin their Booster Program to continue protecting their employees, eligible dependents, and any two added members of an employee’s household.

With almost 100% of its organization fully vaccinated, P&G’s booster program, is part of its continued efforts to prioritize the health and safety of their employees and to help the government’s efforts to vaccinate and boost as many as possible in the population. Its rollout will follow all government guidelines on eligibility and prioritization such as number of days since second dose, age and co-morbidities.

“Since the beginning, P&G’s number one priority has been protecting the health and safety of our employees.  This enables us to keep serving consumers in the country and provide help to communities in need.  Our focus is to be a force for good and a force for growth to help the country recover from this pandemic,” says Raffy Fajardo, President and General Manager of P&G Philippines.

The company’s Force for Good efforts have provided millions of P&G-produced face masks to frontliners, health and hygiene infrastructure and products to hospitals, schools and families, and support for mass education on DOH’s BIDA Solusyon tips against Covid-19.
